About gazebos throughout historyThe Gazebo is the delightful story of a young girl who becomes fascinated by gazebos, simple set-apart outdoors places or shelters for enjoying one's garden or estate. She learns about gazebos throughout history, and when she grows up and reaches middle age, she enjoys the pleasure of gardening and crafting a natural gazebo of her own. Highly recommended for family, school, and community original picturebook collections, Ethel Pochocki's truly delightful story is enchantingly brought to life with gentle, color illustrations by Mary Beth Owens.

Glendower Country: A Novel.
Published in Hardcover by Putnam Pub Group (June, 1973)
Average review score:

Owen Glendower, Welsh Hero! This is the story of the larger-than-life hero of the Welsh, Owen Glendower. The story takes place in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. The story is told by several narratives of main characters in the novel such as: Geoffrey Chaucer, Lady Hanmer of Flintshire-later his wife, Griffith Lloyd-Owen's bard among other characters. Owen is the last Welsh Prince of Wales with a personality and physical presence that is striking for a man, from what was considered a wild and subject courntry of England.
He struggles with his desire for peace while at the same time he wages war on England to recognize Wale's independence. A complex, exciting story of a man who would be king of Wales, but really didn't want to.
This is an out-of-print books, however I found a copy easily enough, and is well worth the effort and time to read. Like all of Rofheart's books they are narratives of several characters, some historical, others fictional.

Glory of Christ
Published in Paperback by Evangelical Press (January, 1993)
Average review score:

A Profound Treatment of a Vast SubjectThough Owen is in no sense an easy read, here is a work with a profundity that makes any amount of struggle well worth the effort. One senses, in the author a deep personal spirituality and an intense devotion to his subject. Though the work is several hundred years old it anticipates much of the modern discussion and no important issue is skirted. Owen provides a deep and finely nuanced treatment of Christ for the advanced reader. The title well captures the content of this book.

Great Catchers
Published in Hardcover by Metro Books (April, 1997)
Average review score:

Unsung HeroesI have always loved the game of baseball. The subtle intricacies, the speed, and the skill of the players. However, my favorite aspect of the sport is its incredible complexity. While the manager is mostly responsible for the strategy in today's game, in the past the catcher was the man in charge. This book covers all the greats, from Bill Dickey to Johnny Bench, with many more in between. They take a look at promising catchers of today like Ivan Rodriguez and Mike Piazza as well. If you have any interest in the backstops of baseball, you will most likely enjoy this book. While catchers don't always get their due, they are an integral part of a successful baseball team, and this book takes a look at the best. The book is well written and concise, but don't let that mislead you. I don't want to imply that the book is childish or "light". Quite the opposite in fact. This book takes a good hard look at what I feel is the most involved position in the great game of baseball. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone.
